Easter Egg Roll, 2019

This photograph, taken by Matthew D'Agostino for the White House Historical Association on April 22, 2019, shows attendees of the annual White House Easter Egg Roll seated in the reading nook. During that year's Egg Roll, First Lady Melania Trump, press secretary Sarah Sanders, Environmental Protection Agency advisor Andrew Wheeler, and counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway were among the speakers who shared stories with children in the reading nook. As host of the Easter Egg Roll in 2019, First Lady Melania Trump carried on a White House tradition, which has delighted youngsters since President Rutherford B. Hayes opened the South Lawn for the games to local children in 1878.
